with a group of art lovers! Such as really digging into
a museum collection or painting in a real studio: thanks
to our longstanding experience we offer each and every
group the appropriate approach!
Obviously, our guides are dedicated specialists, also
available for foreign guests. All this might be combined
with drinks, lunch, dinner or a walking or boat tour.

One
hour: The art historian
guide will meet you at
the main entrance of the
Rijksmuseum with the tickets
so that you can enter
without further ado.
A tour with an extra guide
of the museum’s
collection of paintings
by Rembrandt that emphasises
his painting techniques,
colour, and the use of
light and shadow - effects
that will also form the
basis of the painting
workshop!

guide will walk with you
to the painting studio.

Reception
in this private studio
with tea/coffee and luxurious
nut/chocolate cake.
The ‘Self-Portrait
After Rembrandt; Chiaroscuro’
painting workshop. The
teacher/artist will briefly
explain Rembrandt’s
technique for creating
dramatic tension in his
paintings through the
use of light and shadow.
He frequently worked with
just three colours: ochre,
burnt sienna and raw umber.
On the basis of three
examples, the teacher
will demonstrate the painting’s
three stages.
Under the teacher’s
supervision, you will
then create a portrait
on linen, which will measure
30 cm x 40 cm. The teacher
will have prepared the
canvases in advance.The
self-portraits will be
discussed over drinks.
Participants can either
take their canvases with
them as they leave or
have them delivered to
their offices.
