ARTTRA offers interesting workshops as a teambuilding
activity. But also for people who would like to do something
with a group of art lovers! Such as really digging into
a museum collection or painting in a real studio: thanks
to our longstanding experience we offer each and every
group the appropriate approach!
Obviously, our guides are dedicated specialists, also
available for foreign guests. All this might be combined
with drinks, lunch, dinner or a walking or boat tour.
Workshop ‘The secrets of
the golden age’-Rijksmuseum
This workshop offers an active
opportunity to become acquainted
with the masterpieces of the
Dutch Golden Age.
Following a fascinating tour
led by art historian guides,
participants will work in groups
at unravelling the collection’s
secrets. Everyone was familiar
with these secret codes in the
17th century, but what will
we understand of them some 400
years later? This is an original,
team-building exercise, which
can also prove to be an eye-opener
on a personal level! The winning
team will be presented with
an appropriate prize.
Program
1st
hour
This
workshop – a quest
for the secrets of the
Rijksmuseum masterpieces
- starts at the museum’s
information desk.
Here, our guests will
meet their guides for
a special tour of the
‘Highlights of the
Golden Age’ exhibition,
which will cover both
the works’ background
and their special aspects
such as subject matter,
depiction, composition,
symbolism and use of materials.
The tour will also conclude
at the information desk.
2nd
hour
The
participants will be divided
into groups of between
five and seven people.
Each participant will
be given a list of multiple-choice
questions, which are to
be answered by the group.
The groups will then set
off on their own and must
have completed their visual
questions within an hour.
The quest consists of
20 research and visual
questions that relate
to the works’ hidden
symbolism, and refer to
the wisdom and eroticism
of this collection of
paintings, sculpture,
silver and pottery. Each
correct answer is awarded
ten points.
The
final thirty minutes:
The
groups will meet at the
Cobra Café and
will hand in their answers.
The practical guide will
check the lists during
drinks.
The winners will be presented
with a prize.
