Insel
Hombroich is a unique spot
where art and nature are
counterbalanced. Scattered
in the poetic surroundings,
cut by streams, we find
a German estate agent's
private collection of art:
from Rembrandt, Cezanne,
and Brancusi to Asian sculpture
and musical instruments.
In one of the pavilions
a farmer's lunch will be
served.
In the afternoon we will
visit the Kunstsammlung
Nordrhein-Westfalen with
works of art by Picasso,
Matisse, Ernst and Paul
Klee. You can also choose
to visit the beautiful landscape
garden, for which inspiration
was found in Kew and Chelsea
Gardens in London. Indigenous
and exotic plants and trees
may be seen here, besides
a collection of succulents
in the orangery.
